This guide and the tableBASE Release Notes are intended for use by system installers and/or system administrators responsible for installing the tableBASE Version 7 software. The person installing tableBASE should be familiar with a programming language like COBOL, PL/I, Assembler or C, compile procedures, the linkage editor, and MVS JCL.
If you are installing a new version of tableBASE or a new release for the first time, for example, moving from Version 6 to Version 7 or installing Release 7.0.0 for the first time, you should continue following the steps and procedures in this guide. If you are upgrading to a new release or modification level of tableBASE from a previous release (without adding a new product or component), you should consult the relevant installation instructions in the tableBASE Release Notes, which will explain the most efficient way to accomplish your upgrade.
