Finance Director

Scope of Position

DataKinetics is looking for a Finance Director, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, who will be the second in command of the Finance, General and Administrative Department. This role will be instrumental in scaling continuous growth and sound financial processes of the organization. DataKinetics has begun a strategy of diversification through spin-off organizations, international business development and a combination of organic and inorganic growth. Our first spin-off, omNovos, is a retail technology company and you should expect to be involved in the financial affairs of this completely separate legal entity with a view to maximizing shareholder value and demonstrating astute corporate governance across all organizations within the DataKinetics umbrella of companies.

Functional Responsibilities

  • Improve and implement financial systems and productivity tools to optimize global expansion.
  • Create budgets, forecasts, cash flow statement and other forward-looking analysis in collaboration with department heads.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, management discussion and analysis.
  • Perform general ledger and sub-ledger reviews.
  • Perform normal weekly financial reviews, such as payroll, check runs, AR status, +.
  • Manage the audit processes, including financial, government and others. You will be comfortable vigorously defending the interests of our organizations by doing appropriate research, benchmarking and industry networking to correct misunderstandings from government auditors.
  • Engage with government agencies to leverage expansion opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and financial controls.
  • Assist the CFO with Treasury and Business Development functions:
    • Advanced Business Transformation Modeling, Banking, Risk Management, Governance, Board meeting preparation, Due Diligence, M&A.
  • Assist the CFO with customer and vendor negotiations.
  • Comfortable presenting to the executive team.
  • Manage customer / stakeholder expectations.
  • Be true to your morals and will defend what is “Accounting Correct” with strong conviction and be comfortable explaining the logic to non-financial audiences.
  • Possess the desire to learn, grow and mature your financial and business skills under the current CFO such that your role will continuously progress.

Preferred Education, Experience & Skills

  • CPA.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of audit firm experience.
  • Advanced systems skills, specifically ERP, and experience rolling up the sleeves and implementing SaaS type tools.
  • Excel wizardry skills. Will have to perform an interactive excel task with the CFO.
  • Outstanding English communication skills.
  • Must be comfortable using charts and graphs to communicate the story that businesspeople can understand, not only rely on numbers.
  • Experience dealing with projects, audits, customers, banks, vendors, and government.
  • Experience with payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
  • Ability to deliver quality work on tight deadlines, with strong organization and priority setting skills, and flexibility to occasionally work outside of standard hours.
  • Ability to travel at least one week a quarter; perhaps more occasionally.

Senior Software Engineer

DataKinetics is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer for a permanent full-time position.
This position incorporates some of the functions and responsibilities of a Software Architect and Software Specialist. Under general direction of the Chief Product Officer, the Senior Software Engineer will evaluate, design, implement, and maintain software products developed by DataKinetics.

Primary Duties

  • Primary responsibility for developing and maintaining the z/OS products written in Assembler
  • Provide 3rd level support for software products
  • Improve overall performance of products
  • Provide technical leadership on the development and evolution of the products
  • Deliver training on the products when the need arises
  • Participate in the management and evolution of the development process and systems, including development, testing and support

Skills Required

  • 10+ years of experience with mainframe assembler development specific to the z/OS operating system and other software products
  • Experience supporting/leading/training of software development and use with little or no direction. This would include all aspects such as logical design, defining, implementing, monitoring, reporting and utilities
  • Ability to write/read/debug assembler programs in a batch and online environment
  • Solid knowledge of mainframe JCL and utilities.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes but is not necessarily limited to a drug screen. The candidate must be able to travel internationally 10-25% of the time.

Senior Technical Writing Consultant

DataKinetics is currently seeking a Senior Technical Writer for an immediate contract. The role will primarily involve document conversion projects, particularly from MS Word, PDF, and Framemaker into XML (DITA), but will also require building the necessary tags and document indexes and cross references.

The applicant should also have experience in conforming to defined standards, specifications and language usage principles, and possess knowledge of all aspects of the publishing and documentation management process. The applicant must demonstrate skills in collaboration, facilitation and negotiation, and have experience working both as part of a team, and in isolation.

Skills Required

  • Technical writing
  • Experience using XML authoring tools
  • Familiarity with XML, XSL, DITA, XHTML
  • Familiarity with Oxygen Author Editor
  • Experience using Framemaker, PDF publishing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with IBM knowledge Base
  • Familiarity with multiple Content Management Systems
  • Familiarity with IBM mainframe technology
