Using VTSManager, VTS-TSR tables can be mapped to Linear Data Sets (LDSs). On VTS-TSR initialization, the link to the LDS is set up, and data is available immediately to calling applications. The use of LDSs in this way improves performance by eliminating the time previously required at VTS-TSR startup to load table data row-by-row from the DASD-based library, and to rebuild all indexes.
Tip: LDS-backed Read/Write VTS-TSRs are not recommended.
