The VSAM FILE STATUS KEY is a 2-character field that maps to tableBASE error codes. Currently, only status values “00”, “10”, “22”, and “23” are returned. For any tableBASE error code that has no equivalent VSAM file status, a value of “90” is returned. Use the error code and subcode of the COMMAND-AREA when a value of file status “90” is returned.
