netTABLES
DataKinetics ® netTABLES® is a real-time in-memory table management solution that reduces corporate IT resource usage. Just as important, it allows corporate data to reside on the same platform as the applications that use it—anywhere on the corporate network. The result is much faster applications, especially in transaction processing environments, and dramatically reduced time wasted on disk I/O and network latency.
netTABLES Provides the Perfect Solution for the Corporate Network
DataKinetics now makes its Advanced Data Optimization Performance Technology™ (ADOPT™) technology available on the distributed systems in the corporate network. ADOPT technology extends into the distributed network on Linux Application Servers, other Linux servers, Windows servers, Java servers, and more, making corporate data available throughout the entire corporate network.
Whether corporate data resides on a UNIX server, a mainframe or a Linux server, with netTABLES, it is also available anywhere on the network, wherever it is needed by an application.
A transfer of data from the corporate data repository to the application server is required only once, during setup- thereafter, updates occur in the background, and do not interrupt processing on the server. In-memory tables are updated in the background while production tables are in use. |
When ready, updated tables are switched for the production tables currently in use without interrupting ongoing processing. Down time is not necessary.
Network servers can run 24x7 without stopping for updates, without waiting on network latency, and without waiting on disk I/O latency. |

Performance Benefits
netTABLES can dramatically improve the performance of disk-based database systems. Performance increases of one to two orders of magnitude can be expected over existing I/O intensive applications. In typical systems, applications fetch data from a disk-based database (see Fig 1, top). These systems access data either directly via I/O.
In systems using netTABLES optimization, the disk-based database populates in-memory tables once. Application I/O calls are substituted with calls to memory-based tables (Fig 2, bottom). This results in an improvement of from one to two orders of magnitude in application performance. Instead of fetching data at I/O speeds, your applications now fetch data at memory speeds. Without buffering, without extra hardware. |
What does this mean to my company?
Instead of investing significantly in more hardware to gain 2x, 3x, or 4x capacity, you can invest modestly in netTABLES, and gain up to 30x your current data access capacity. |

Efficient High-speed Business Applications
There are a myriad of solutions for modern business rules management in the distributed corporate network; however, if you need business rules processing that must be ultra high-speed, and must draw on your centralized corporate data, your options are limited. Disk I/O latency and network latency are going drag your business rules processing to a virtual halt.
With netTABLES applications, corporate data is local to the application, eliminating network latency. netTABLES-powered applications access data from in-memory tables at memory speed, eliminating disk I/O latency. Further, corporate data is always up to date—while rules processing is running, data is updated in the background. All this means that your business rules processing applications can run 24x7, and never need to stop for data updates—they’re also immune from disk I/O latency and network latency.
Further, netTABLES-powered applications are market-adaptive, growing and changing with the company as it grows and changes. They are as compatible with mergers and acquisitions as they are with divestitures. They are vital to business operations and become an essential part of the company's value by enabling business top-line growth, while reducing costs.
