Using tableBASE with the tableBASE IMS/TM Interface to build and manage temporary data tables in memory will substantially reduce the CPU and I/O overhead of individual IMS Message Processing Regions (MPRs).
In addition, the integration of tableBASE VTS into the IMS online environment gives IMS new options for multithreading activity, making it possible for multiple MPRs running on the same LPAR to share data tables among themselves, giving their transactions concurrent access to the same in-memory data.
